The common problem people face when they are switching broadband providers is to handle everything in such a way so that their current broadband service doesn’t get cancelled before they get a new one. Especially in the case of businesses, they just can’t afford to have their service cancelled and go without internet for a few days before they get their new service.

Before you switch to a new broadband provider, make sure you compare broadband deals before buying any contract. It is advisable to call the broadband provider first, and ask them if they will provide the MAC code easily if you need it in the future.

However, the easy solution to this problem is to get a MAC code from your current provider and give that code to the new provider you wish to switch to. The new broadband provider will handle everything and make the switch in a way that you will not have to cancel your current service to get a new one. With MAC code, you can simply migrate from one service to another without any hassle. You won’t go without service for even a day if you get a MAC code.

MAC code is actually a “Migration Authority Code” that aids in switching from one broadband provider to another. Your MAC code is issued by your current broadband provider only and your new provider will only provide you with their service once you give them the MAC code.

However, there are a few problems when people request a MAC code from their current provider. Your current provider will of course, get to know that you want to switch your service when you ask them for a MAC code. And so, they will do everything possible to make you stay with them. However, just being firm and telling them that you want your MAC code anyway will solve your problem and they will issue it. Many broadband providers are now offering MAC codes online and respect customers who request them.

Compare deals based on monthly price, download allowance or contract length. Just make sure you choose the right deal for your needs.
